The Company 

A well funded US based start up who are looking to establish their Australian operations are looking for a Program Manager to help them in their client engagements and project schedule. They have designed and built the next generation in expert cloud automation tools which are revolutionising the way Enterprise and Service Provider companies deploy and operate their infrastructure, applications and services. It integrates with the latest cloud technologies such as OpenStack, AWS, SDN and Network Function Virtualisation (NFV), this system completely changes the way IT systems are operated saving companies millions each year, reducing MTTR, and dramatically increasing the velocity of new service creation.

The Role

This Program Manager will lead client-facing initiatives within a major tier-one service provider that will drive their Cloud Orchestration solution rollout. Working at multiple levels within the customer organisation and collaborating with partners and with the solutions team, this strategic role manages all aspects of program development and planning through deployment – starting with project scope/definition, project planning, timeline measurement and resource allocation.

The Program Manager will have direct impact on the revenue generated with customers, and will be responsible to maintain our positive Customer Experience. A critical component to this role is the ability to multi-task, maintain proactive as well as efficient communication, and escalate critical issues as well as provide advice and feedback to the customers.




    • Work with customers as well as the internal Solution teams to clearly define and document overall program and individual project scope, requirements and integration points as they relate to solution rollout and implementation.



    • Oversee project delivery process with key contributors to help manage scope and prepare change requests - including tasks, deliverables, milestones, resources, and estimated costs. Act as primary point of contact for the client(s) throughout the program life-cycle.
    • Achieve customer satisfaction through successful delivery of defined project scope. Coordinate/communicate escalations across multiple teams.
    • Manage administrative portions of project delivery from inception to closure.
    • Coordinate escalations across internal teams, including sales, services, and product organisations.
    • Accurately forecast revenue, profitability, margins, bill rates and utilisation across projects.




    • Minimum 8 years of prior experience in a client-facing Project Management role, with depth in services automation or cloud management in the telecommunication space, with a tier-one service provider. This includes knowledge of as many of the following as possible: virtualization, orchestration, automation, networking, SDN, NFV, 4G, 5G, OpenStack and similar technologies.



    • Proven success in a software-based PM role required. Prior experience as a Program or very senior Project Manager within a Cloud Services environment is highly desirable.
    • Proven ability to understand the impact of technical changes, and, to articulate high level technical solutions to address business problems.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to identify issues, resolve them quickly and know when to rely on internal resources to assist.
    • An innovative thinker, collaborative business partner, who is well-organised and detailed with strong presentation and reporting skills is recommended.
